cheated
by: lindsey

in 2006 at the age of 37, 7 weeks after having my second child, i suffered 3 compression wedge fractures to my spine, after a dexa scan i was told i had osteopenia. forward 5 year of healthy eating and calcium tablets my next scan showed a vast improvement and i was told i didnt have it anymore that my bones were fine. In january of this year i joined a gym started working out and feeling much more confident. Four weeks ago after much back pain and numerous visits to my doctors that they finally sent me for an xray to be told that i have broken another bone in my back and that osteopenia doesnt ever get better only worse. to say that i feel totally let down and cheated it an understatement. i have read lots of sites like this one and i really believed that i could fix myself
