It can be done!

by Nancy Smith
(Florida)

I was diagnosed with osteoporosis 2 years ago at the age of 48. The doctor recommended Fosamax of course, but I wanted to try the natural route first. I just got the results of my dexa scan, and am happy to report no more osteoporosis! I had improvements ranging from .6 to .9

Site 12/2007 12/2009 change
Spine L1-L4 -2.1 -1.2 11.4%
Femur Neck Left -1.7 -1.1 10.6%
Femur Neck Right -2.4 -1.8 13.4%
Femur Neck Mean -2.1 -1.4 11.9%
Femur Troch Left -2.5 -1.6 18.2%
Femur Troch Right -3.2 -2.4 18.2%
Femur Troch Mean -2.9 -2.0 18.2%
Femur Total Left -2.6 -1.8 14.6%
Femur Total Right -2.8 -2.2 13.1%
Femur Total Mean -2.7 -2.0 13.9%

These are the 5 things I did:
1. bioidentical hormones (to normal levels, not "normal for your age")

2. supplements (mainly Osteoprime and K2)

3. weight lifting 2 or 3 times a week, and impact exercise 1 time per week (I used the book New Rules of Lifting for Women, and the bootcamp class at my gym)

4. ionized water (I had been drinking distilled water. Ionizers make the water more alkaline)
5. visualization (before going asleep and upon awakening)

It's so nice to finally have the validation! I love your site and the inspiration. It helped me keep the faith that my hard work was going to pay off!
