Save Your Bones: High Calcium Low Calorie Recipes for the

Save Your Bones: High Calcium Low Calorie Recipes for the Family. Triad Publishing. 1999 was written by Lois Goulder. This book appears to continue the theme started by Goulder when she wrote, The Strong Bones Diet: The High Calcium, Low Calorie Way to Prevent Osteoporosis.

Both books emphasize the importance of our daily food choices for bone building.

Table of Contents:

Introduction: The Importance of Calcium

1. A Calcium High at the Supermarket

2. Creative Calcium Cookery

3. Meal Suggestions

4. Recipes

Save Your Bones offers a number of things not covered by many authors.  For example Goulder includes ideas about meal planning and doing your  shopping at the supermarket. She also includes 73 home-style recipes - these include  appetizers, salads,  dressings, soups, entrees, vegetables, sauces, breads, desserts and snacks. And calcium and calorie counts are given for each recipe.

Good but....

Although the book is a boon to anyone wanting to redo their daily eating so as to include more calcium, Goulder offers little about the other  elements necessary to build strong bones: Boron, Magnesium, and Vitamin D  - all of which can be obtained through food.

Still if you want to get more calcium in your diet WITHOUT taking supplements, you might want to get a copy by clicking:
