Osteopenia drugs

Osteopenia drugs. Although there are medications approved for those with Osteoporosis, there is no specific pharmeceutical drug approved to treat Osteopenia. Some physicians treating patients with Osteopenia may prescribe medications used for the more serious condtion of Osteoporosis.

If your health care provider has recommended that you take a pharmeceutial drug to treat your Osteopenia, you will want to read the page about Osteoporosis drugs since many of the pharmeceutical drugs prescribed for bone loss come with significant side effects. If you read the page, you will recognize the side effect if it occurs.  You will know that it is being caused by the new pharmeceuctial drug you are taking. Then you can contact your health care provider with that information to see is s/he will want you to use a different medication.  To learn these side effects, read the page: Osteoporosis drugs

Ways to build stronger bones without medications

Just because there is no specific pharmeceutial drug for Osteopenia, that does not leave you without help in restoring your bone density. There are many things that you can do to rebuild your bones so that you never reach the stage of Osteoporosis.

First, you will want to figure out WHY you have lost bone density.  It is not just a case of your age. There are a number of things that lead to bone loss. Knowing what they are means that you can make behavioral changes that will slow bone loss.  It may be that there are  things that you have never thought about that could be causing your bone loss. Why not begin by finding out if there are any things you are doing (or not doing) that are contributing to your loss of bone density. Check out: Causes of Osteopenia and Osteoporosis and then return to this page.

Second, I suggest that you review some things that you can do that will increase your bone building/density so you can reverse your Osteopenia over the next few months. Check out: Natural treatments to reverse bone loss: Treatments without Osteoporosis, Osteopenia drugs.

Third, if you wish to review the pharmeceutical drugs commonly presecribed for Osteoporosis, click on Osteoporosis drugs - Osteopenia medications.  (Note: this page lists the drugs as commonly named in North America. A few of these pharmeceutical drugs may be sold under a different name in the EU or Asia.

In any case I wish you much luck in restoring your bones. Many of us have done so. You can too. It takes knowledge (and this site provides  the knowledge you need) and it takes perseverance. You bones grow slowly so it will take time to restore you body to full bone density.                                                                                        Go to: Causes of Osteopenia, Osteoporosis                                                                Also, you may want to sign up for the free Newsletter: Osteopenia News
