Osteoporosis treatment

Osteoporosis treatment can stop and reverse bone loss. If you have been diagnosed with excessive bone loss know that your condition is reversible. Others have done it.... and some have done it without taking any prescription drugs.

Read on to find out how you ,too, can reverse your bone loss. If you are undergoing any sort of Osteoporosis treatment, you need to educate yourself.

The men and women who have educated themselves are the one who make the most progress and suffer the fewest side effects.

First, remember the name Osteopenia is given to bone loss that is less severe than Osteoporosis. If something works for Osteopenia, it most  likely going to work for Osteoporosis.

Three big areas of Osteoporosis treatment:

First, you want to understand why you have developed excessive bone loss. The reasons are not the same in every person. If you know why YOU have developed it, you are in a better position to know what you need to do to increase your bone density.

Remember is not normal to experience excessive bone loss (Osteopenia or Osteoporosis) before you are eighty. We know this to be true because the Japanese and other societies who follow good bone building way of life, do not experience Osteopenia or Osteoporosis until late in life.It was only when some persons in those societies adopted 'modern' ways, that they, too, began to suffer from Osteopenia and Osteoporosis earlier in life.

If you can figure out why you have Osteopenia or Osteoporosis, your Osteoporosis treatment can be individualized.  So read and make not of all that apply to you:  Causes of  bone loss

Second, Pharmaceutical drugs If your medical provider has written a prescription for a drug to slow or reverse your bone loss,  do read up about the prescription to find out: 1. how effective this drug has been AND 2. whether it has any side effects. And 3. if there are side effects, you want to know how serious these are.

Some people do very well on prescription drugs. Others experience side effects immediately or when they think about side effects that can come later, they decide that they do not want to take that particular drug.

If you are concerned about side effects, talk to your medical provider. There are alternatives. Do NOT just stop treatment. Click here to read about Pharmaceutical drugs used for Osteopenia treatment

Third, Natural treatments

  • There are dozens of changes to life style that can slow and even reverse bone loss.
  • There are supplements, weight bearing exercise and other natural treatment for Osteopenia and Osteoporosis that can be used instead of prescription drugs or in addition to prescription drugs. As you read these pages, be sure to have your list of your personal CAUSES in front of you. Skim the page and try to find some natural treatments that address your particular causes. Eg. if you have not lifted weights or do not work at a job that necessitates heavy lifting, you want to read about exercise. If you are considering supplements, you want to read the whole section...including the part about strontium.

Remember your Osteoporosis did not develop overnight. Reversing it will not be done overnight either. Come back to the pages about Causes and Treatments often. (I add material as I find new studies in the scientific literature.)

You can reverse your bone loss!
