Osteoporosis treatment

Osteoporosis treatment can stop bone loss and even reverse it If you have been diagnosed with excessive bone loss know that this condition is reversible. Others have done so and some do it without taking prescription drugs.

I suggest that you book mark this page so you can read each of the sections that it links to and still get back to this page. If you are undergoing any sort of Osteoporosis treatment, you need to educate yourself.

The men and women who have educated themselves are the one who make the most progress and suffer the fewest side effects. When you read the material on this web site do remember the name Osteopenia is given to bone loss that is less severe than Osteoporosis. If something works for Osteopenia, it is likely to work for Osteoporosis.

There are three big areas to read:

  1. First, you want to understand why you have developed excessive bone loss. The reasons are not the same in every person. If you know why YOU have developed it, you are in a better position to know what you need to do to increase youir bone density.s.

Remember is not normal to experience excessive bone loss (Osteopenai or Osteoporosis) before you are in your eighties. We know this to be true because the people of Japan and other societies who followed a 'traditional way of life' did not/do not experience osteopenia or osteoporosis until late in life. It is only when people in these societies adopted 'modern' ways, that they, too, began to suffer from Osteopenia or Osteoporosis in their earlier years.

If you can figure out why you have Osteopenia or Osteoporosis, your Osteoporosis treatment can be individualized so you remove or treat ALL the causes. Click here for Causes of excessive bone loss

  2. Pharmaceutical drugs

If your medical provider has written a prescription to slow or reverse your bone loss you do want to read up about the prescription to find out how effective this drug has been AND whether it has any side effects. If there are side effects, you want to know how serious these are.

Some people do very well on prescription drugs. Others experience side effects immediately or when they consider documented side effects that can come later they decide that they do not want to take a given drug. If you are concerned about side effects, talk to your medical provider. There are alternatives. Do NOT just stop treatment.

  3. Natural treatments

There are dozens of changes to life style that can slow and even reverse bone loss. There are supplements, weight bearing exercise and other natural treatment for Osteopenia and Osteoporosis that can be used instead of prescription drugs or in addition to prescription drugs to help you reverse bone loss.

As you read these pages, be sure to have your list of your personal CAUSES in front of you. Skim the page and try to find some natural treatments that address your particular causes. Eg. if you have not lifted weights or do not work at a job that necessitates heavy lifting, you want to read about exercise. If you are considering supplements, you want to read the whole section...including the part about strontium.

  4. Remember your Osteoporosis did not develop overnight. Reversing it will not be done overnight either. Come back to the pages about Causes and Treatments often. (I add material as I find new studies in the scientific literature.)

You can reverse your bone loss.
